The annual festival, jointly organised by AKA Balloons Sdn Bhd and Putrajaya Corporation (PPj), will see more than 20 colourful balloons take to the skies in Precinct 12 until March 15.
Other than Malaysia, the balloonists hail from 11 countries, including the Philippines, South Korea, the United States, Australia and Belgium.
The Vincent Van Gogh balloon, which bears the likeness of the famous Dutch artist,; along with other quirky designs such as a penguin-shaped one wearing Hawaiian clothes, Humpty Dumpty and the Green Monster are some of the balloons to look out for.
Past fiestas have featured the popular Darth Vader and Doraemon balloons.
Event director and AKA Balloons Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Nur Izzati Khairudin said the fiesta was a homegrown product which contributed to the country’s aim of becoming a major tourist destination.
“We are excited to once again present a world-class line-up of talented international balloonists and many exciting on-ground activities,” she added.
The event is expected to attract a 300,000-strong crowd, with loads of activities for the whole family.

Meanwhile, outdoor and extreme sports lovers will like the Cold Inflation — where visitors get to walk inside a giant hot air balloon, outdoor laser tag, zorb ball and paintball as well as meet-and-greet sessions with the balloonists.
KL Clothing will be offering a wide range of clothing and accessories at the bazaar area along with celebrity guest appearances featuring Neelofa, Afdlin Shauki and Tiz Zaqyah. .
