The weather could be a problem for the 20th America’s Challenge Gas Balloon race. Officials were supposed to schedule the launch Monday night but have pushed the launch back. They will discuss the launch Tuesday afternoon in a pilot briefing.
Balloon official say they must consider weather conditions in Albuquerque and across the country since America’s Challenge is a long distance race. Under the rules, pilots have until Wednesday night to launch and if they cannot, this year’s race will be cancelled.
This year’s seven competitors are from the U.S, Germany, France, Poland and Spain.
